Police say the shooting took place about 5:30 a.m. in the area of 14th and Kendall, which is south of Oakman Boulevard and west of the John C. Lodge Freeway.

The victim was walking in the area when the two suspects, both carrying pistols, both masked, approached an older-model white van.

They exited the van, produced their handguns, and robbed the victim of what money he had before shooting him, police said.

The victim was able to make it to 14th and Oakman, which is where police met him.

The victim's condition was not immediately available.
