Detroit police arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with the death of a woman, who is possibly in her 50s, whose body was dragged down a street on the city's west side Monday afternoon.

Police responded to the 11600 block of Winthrop — north of Plymouth Road, west of Greenfield — at 4:30 p.m. Monday for "an unknown reason," said Detroit police spokesman Dontae Freeman.

A camera is seen here in the windshield of a Detroit police car.

There they found the woman's body.

Witnesses at the scene told police what had happened: the woman had been dragged there and left by a man who was still visible and walking up the street.

Police caught up with the man and arrested him without incident.

The Wayne County Medical Examiner could not immediately be reached.
