Man, 22, shot in back while driving on east side
As a 22-year-old man drove his black Cadillac on Detroit's east side Wednesday afternoon, he heard four gunshots, then realized he himself had been hit in the back.
The shooting took place about 4:30 p.m. and left the victim in critical condition.
After the victim heard shots, one came through his driver's side window and hit him in his back. The victim was able to drive from the area of the shooting, Gunston and Kennebec, to the Marathon gas station on the 11000 block of East Seven Mile, at East Outer Drive, which is about one-and-a-half miles north and west of the shooting.
There, someone called 911, and medics soon arrived and transported him to an area hospital. There was another adult man in the passenger seat but he was not hit or hurt.
Police are investigating.
