Friday night, about 9:30 p.m., on the eighth floor of the parking structure of the Greektown Hotel in downtown Detroit, a 91-year-old man was forced to the ground by a 24-year-old man and had the keys to his 1995 red Cadillac Eldorado stolen, police said. The vehicle drove off seconds later, without him.

After the strong-arm robbery, Detroit Police Department's auto theft unit, Greektown security, and the Taylor Police Department collaborated to identify, locate and apprehend the suspect, which they did about 12:30 p.m. Saturday, without incident.

Police have also recovered the Eldorado, said Sgt. Nicole Kirkwood, head of media relations for the Detroit Police Department. The victim was not hurt and will soon have his Eldorado returned.

The suspect is held at the Detroit Detention Center, pending charges.
