Police: Barricaded gunman shoots victim's finger off
A woman had her finger shot off during a barricaded gunman situation Saturday on Detroit's east side, police say.
Detroit Police arrived at the scene shortly after 11 p.m. after a report of a shooting in the 10400 block of Balfour, which is north of Interstate 94 and west of Cadieux. The suspect, a 34-year-old man, allegedly shot the victim, a 35-year-old woman, in her right hand. He then went back inside the home, and a barricaded gunman situation was declared, police said.
Hours later, just before 3:30 a.m. Sunday, police arrested the suspect at his mother's house, in the 3600 block of Cass,
He is being held at the Detroit Detention Center pending charges.
