Man sought in robbery, assault at Detroit Coney Island

Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering up to $1,000 for tips to find a suspect who allegedly robbed and assaulted a mentally disabled man at an east Detroit restaurant this month.

The 22-year-old victim was leaving Lou’s Coney Island at 19100 Mound about 8 p.m. March 3 when another man stopped him just outside the door, took his headphones and went back inside, investigators said in a statement Thursday.

When the other man confronted him, the suspect “pushed him and punched him in the face and head several times,” the release read.

The suspect, who was caught on surveillance footage, then fled on foot west on Seven Mile.

If a tip leading to an arrest is received by midnight Thursday, the agency officials plan to add another $1,000 to the reward.
