A woman drove herself to the hospital early Sunday after getting shot in the chest, Detroit Police said Sunday.

The 34-year-old, whose name has not been released, was shot around 3:07 a.m. in the 6000 block of West Outerdrive on Detroit’s west side. The details of the shooting are still being pieced together and details are not yet available, said Detroit Police Off. Vanessa Burt, a spokesperson for the Detroit Police Department.

The woman was immediately taken into surgery once arriving at the hospital. She is in critical condition, said Burt.

The perpetrator of the woman’s shooting is unknown right now, said Burt. The case remains under investigation.
