Detroit police are investigating a Tuesday morning shooting of a 27-year-old man who was shot outside of his home on the city's west side.

The shooting took place about 2:30 a.m. in a driveway on the 13500 block of Manor, which is north of Interstate 96 and east of Meyers.

Dontae Freeman, a Detroit Police Department spokesman, said the victim was moving items from outside into the home when he heard gunshots and realized he'd been shot on the left side of his body.

A family member privately conveyed the victim to an area hospital, where he was listed in temporary serious condition at last report. No description of the shooter was immediately available.
