An unidentified black male, believed to be between 65 and 70 years old, was found face down and dead at Scripps Park on Detroit's west side Tuesday morning, police said.

Dontae Freeman, a Detroit police spokesman, said the man was spotted face down and unresponsive at the park, which is at Grand River and Trumbull, about 11:10 a.m. Tuesday.

Medics arrived but pronounced the man dead at the scene. Police will investigate, and the Wayne County Medical Examiner will work to identify the man and his cause and manner of death.
