Police: Motorcyclist killed in single-vehicle crash
A 39-year-old who died late Monday night on Detroit's west side in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash wasn't wearing a helmet, police said.
The fatal crash took place about 10:53 p.m. on the southbound Southfield Freeway Service Drive, near Pembroke, said Dontae Freeman, a spokesman for the Detroit Police Department.
Police believe the victim lost control of the motorcycle, hit a curb and may have hit his head on the way down.
Medics transported him to an area hospital, but he died in the emergency room.
