Woman shot on Detroit's northeast side

Detroit police said a woman was injured in a nonfatal shooting Friday night on the city's northeast side. 

Police responded to the 19000 block of Sherwood on reports of a shooting at 10:50 p.m. 

A 26-year-old woman said she was walking through the parking lot when she heard gunshots and was suddenly shot in the right ankle and right thigh, police said. 

A 60-year-old man was sitting in his gray Chrysler 300 in the parking lot when shots came through his back and passenger side windows at the same time the victim was shot. 

The victim was taken to the hospital and listed in a temporary serious condition. 

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
