A Detroit woman is being accused of child abuse after she kicked and assaulted her 2-year-old on the sidewalk in front of her home last week, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.

Rolaunda Paul, 30, has been charged with second-degree child abuse in connection with the crime, prosecutors said Monday in a statement.

Paul was formally charged in a Romulus district court Saturday.

Officials said they do not yet have information for Paul's next court appearance.
