Early Tuesday was a busy time on Detroit's west side, as one man was carjacked during a meet-up and another apparently accidentally shot himself around 12:30 a.m.

On the 22000 block of Plymouth, as the road passes through Rouge Park, a 38-year-old white male arrived to meet a 25-year-old black female, for reasons not yet known, police said.

But when the two met, the woman brought another woman along. The two women pepper-sprayed the victim, stole some cash and other items, then drove off in his cream-colored Chrysler 300, said Dontae Freeman, a spokesman for the Detroit Police Department.

Police describe the suspect the victim showed up to meet as a black woman, 25 years old, about 5-feet-5-inches tall. She wore a black jacket and pink pants. The description of the second suspect is vague.

After stealing the Chrysler, the suspects fled in an unknown direction.

A few miles north and east, at West Seven Mile and Evergreen, a 29-year-old white male drove himself to the hospital, he told police, after accidentally shooting himself in his left thigh. Police found him at a suburban hospital. There were no immediate details on how the shooting took place.
