Detroit Police are investigating the Thursday shooting death of a 26-year-old man on the city's west side, officials said.

Officers were dispatched to a hospital in response to a report of the shooting at about 10:20 p.m., according to authorities.

At the hospital, police spoke to the victim's brother who told them the man and a friend had been at a casino earlier Thursday night and won some money, officials said.

The victim called his brother and told him he was heading to his home in the 16200 block of Mark Twain near Puritan and Hubbell avenues and some other men were going to meet him there, according to a preliminary investigation.

Police said the brother went to the home and found the victim in the middle of the street with a gunshot wound in the mouth.

The victim was put into a vehicle and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Officials said they are seeking three male suspects in the shooting and aren't releasing any further information.
