A 48-year-old Detroit man is in the hospital after being shot in both legs Friday, police said.

Officials said the shooting happened at about 1 a.m. Friday in the West Outer Drive and Lahser Road area on the city's west side.

The victim told investigators he was at an address in the area when an argument began and a man shot him in both of his upper legs, according to authorities.

He also told police he walked about a mile and half southeast to the 10500 block of Spinoza Street where he called 911.

He was taken to the hospital, but officials said they have no word on his condition.

Police said officers were sent to the area where the victim said the shooting happened, but it's not clear if they were able to find it.

Police also said they have no information on the suspect in the shooting.
