2 shot, 1 arrested after Detroit gunfire
Detroit police have a suspect in custody after an exchange of gunfire left two injured Saturday morning on the city's west side.
Officer were dispatched at 1:55 a.m. Saturday to the 4000 bock of Freer Street after reports of a double nonfatal shooting.
Upon arrival, police found two 26-year-old men with gunshot wounds. One victim was shot in the chest and is in critical condition, and the other was shot in the hip and is listed in stable condition, authorities said.
Both were transported to the hospital.
According to police, the first victim was riding with the suspect, also 26, in a vehicle that hit the second victim. Both exchanged gunfire and the unharmed male driver was taken into custody.
