A 27-year-old Detroit man has been charged with six counts, including open murder and assault with intent to murder, in a late-March shooting near an after-hours establishment on the city's west side that left one woman dead and a man wounded.

Rasheed Brown was denied bond at his arraignment and will remain at Wayne County Jail as his case is decided.

Police say the double shooting took place around 3 a.m. March 24, when an argument was underway at an after-hours spot on the 8200 block of Fenkell, near Roselawn. The area is west of Livernois.

Shots were fired and two victims injured: a 20-year-old woman who was shot in her back, and a 23-year-old man who was shot in his body.

Both were privately transported to an area hospital, but the woman died.

In addition to the open murder and assault charges, Brown faces firearm possession by a felon and three counts of felony firearm.
