Detroit police have released surveillance footage of a suspect wanted in connection with a sexual assault reported downtown last month.

A 24-year-old woman had been visiting a bar in the 300 block of Monroe between 9 and 10 p.m. March 17 when she went to an attached tent to use the restroom, investigators said in a statement.

A man approached, forced the woman to a nearby alley, sexually assaulted her, then ran away, according to the statement.

The suspect is described as Hispanic, 5-foot-6, with dark hair, last seen wearing gold-lensed aviator sunglasses, a black jacket, green shirt, blue jeans and black and white shoes.

Anyone who recognizes him is asked to call the Detroit Police Department Sex Crimes Unit at (313) 596-1950. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK- UP.
