Seats are being sold in sets of two and start at $150 per seat on thejoeseats.com. As for the condition of the seats, Scott Miedema, the CEO of Miedema Asset Management Group Inc., said they will be sold as is.

"They're used seats. They're all history, and beauty that they were, I'm sure there are a few Bud Lights that have been spilled on them, and that's the way you're buying them," Miedema said.

Miedema and Robert Levy Associates LLC are managing the sale. Officials said a portion of their fees will be donated to three Detroit charities, including Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation, Sparky Anderson’s CATCH and Brilliant Detroit, and early-childhood development program.

"For season ticket holders who want their seats, there are a lot of shared armrests here, so we need to work the configurations and make sure that it's going to work out," Miedema said. "There's people who want 40 or 50 of them for man caves and indoor theaters."

Fans who request specific seats could face added charges. Seats are to be picked up on site or shipped along with a certificate of authenticity.

The sale of other Joe Louis Arena assets will be sold at an online auction at orbitbid.com and rlevyinc.com/sales in May. Items include furniture, lighting, signs, chilling systems and other basic infrastructure. The sale also will include suite wet bars and The Joe’s official scoreboard.
