Tips sought in Detroit double slaying
Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering $2,500 to find suspects wanted in a double slaying in northwest Detroit.
Officers found the victims, identified as George Mitchell and Laquita Payton, with gunshot wounds about 12:30 a.m. March 31 at a home in the 8000 block of Rosemont.
A relative told investigators he was upstairs “when two suspects entered the front door and fired shots,” officials said in a statement Thursday. The pair fled on foot north on Rosemont.
Mitchell, 52, a grandfather, and Payton, 30, a mother of five and teen mentor, died from their injuries at a hospital.
