2 drive-by shootings within half-hour in Detroit
Detroit police are investigating two drive-by shootings that took place within a half-hour of one another Sunday night on the city's west side.
One man was killed and another injured in the two shootings.
At 11:15 p.m., on the 7500 block of Dunedin — north of West Grand Boulevard, west of Rosa Parks — a white Chevrolet Malibu pulled up and someone inside shot a 22-year-old man in the chest.
Witnesses reported the shooting, and when police responded they found the victim on the ground. Medics responded but the victim died.
A half-hour earlier, at 10:45 p.m., in the area of Schoolcraft and Ilene, west of Wyoming, a green Dodge, either a Stratus or Interpid, pulled up on a 26-year-old man, police said. Someone in the vehicle fired a shot, which struck the victim in his knee.
After being privately conveyed to an area hospital, the victim was listed in stable condition.
