A Michigan State Police trooper was hit by an alleged drunken driver early Sunday  on Interstate 96 on Detroit's west side and the woman driving the vehicle was arrested, police said.



Trooper, Matt Unterbrink and his K-9 partner Boz were on eastbound I-96 at Interstate 94, blocking traffic for another trooper who was checking on an abandoned vehicle. 

 Unterbrink's vehicle was hit by a vehicle while he was still inside. After being transported to the hospital, Unterbrink was treated and released. His partner Boz is in the care of another K-9 handler for Michigan State Police.


he woman driving the car that hit Unterbrink's was arrested for drunken driving and is jailed at the Detroit Detention Center. She had children in the car, and they were handed off to family members.
