Detroit police are trying to identify a woman found dead Sunday morning on the city's east side.


The body was found about 8 a.m. on the 20100 block of Terrell, which is south of East Eight Mile and east of Van Dyke.

Someone in the area spotted the  body on the ground and called 911. Medics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

The cause of the woman's death remains unknown as does her identity. Police describe her as a white, 50 to 55 years old. She wore a pink top, black jeans and black flip flops.
