Detroit police are investigating an armed robbery early Monday at a popular take-out restaurant, Sweetwater Express, on the city's west side.

The armed robbery took place about 12:40 a.m. at the take-out restaurant on the 15600 block of West McNichols, said Detroit police spokesman Dontae Freeman.

Two masked men, wearing all-black, entered the restaurant and pulled a handgun on the cashier, a 47-year-old man, and demanded money.

The cashier complied, and the suspects then fled through the back door.
