Thieves smash into Detroit party store, take cash, $5K in liquor

Detroit police are working to find suspects wanted in a break-in at a business on the city’s east side.

Surveillance cameras captured two dark trucks pulling into the parking lot at Lynch Party Store in the 10000 block of Van Dyke about 4:30 a.m. May 14 before one backed into the front door to shatter the glass, investigators said in a statement.

Three males rushed inside and were seen leaving with a large garbage can, according to the release.

The two vehicles fled north on Van Dyke while one of the suspects left on foot.

Authorities said cash and about $5,000 worth of alcohol were stolen.
