Thieves break into two cellphone stores on 8 Mile

Detroit police are looking for thieves who broke into two cell phone stores on Eight Mile Road before they opened on Saturday, police said. 

A MetroPCS store was broken into at 4:50 a.m. in the 1300 block of West Eight Mile Road. The suspects pried open the front door of the business and stole an unknown number of phones and gadgets. 

About 10 minutes later, the robbers broke into the Boost Mobile in the 13000 block of East Eight Mile, where they committed the same crime. 

Police say Blue Light Market, on 8800 block of Mack Avenue was also broken into and robbed of liquor and cigarettes. The incident occurred at 5:05 a.m. when suspects broke a hole into the wall on the side of the business. Police said it's unclear it the third robbery is related to the cell phone store robberies.
