Detroit man charged in brother's death
A 59-year-old Detroit man, Ernest Milo, faces charges of open murder and felony firearm in connection to the shooting death of his 54-year-old brother, Ernest Walton, at their apartment last Tuesday on the city's east side.
The homicide took place Tuesday about 2 a.m., at their home on the 1100 block of Holcomb, which is just north of East Jefferson.
The shooting allegedly stemmed from an argument the brothers had about their "living conditions," police said at the time.
Police arrived to find the victim, the younger brother, unresponsive, lying on the floor with gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
After a short canvass of the area, police spotted Milo and made the arrest.
Milo was denied bond at his arraignment Thursday afternoon. He's due back in court for a probable cause conference on June 14, and a preliminary exam on June 21, both before Judge Lydia Adams at Third Circuit Court.
