Homicide detectives are investigating after a 43-year-old man was found fatally shot at a home on Detroit's east side Monday morning.

The man's death was discovered about 8:10 a.m. on the 2500 block of Chalmers, said Officer Dan Donakowski, a Detroit police spokesman. That's right off the Vernor Highway.

A woman arrived at the man's house to find him lying on the floor, face down, with a gunshot wound to the head. The circumstances of the homicide are not immediately known.
