A 30-year-old man is in serious condition and a 25-year-old man is under arrest after a shooting that allegedly started with a rock coming through the suspect's window on Detroit's west side.

The shooting took place about 3:15 a.m. in the area of 25th and Howard, which is north of the Interstate 75 Service Drive and east of West Grand Boulevard.

Detroit police spokesman Dontae Freeman says the victim told police that after a rock came through his window, he went outside and saw a Chevy Camaro drive off. He gave chase, and the two men exchanged gunfire, during which the 30-year-old man was shot in the right side of his body.

Police arrested the 25-year-old at the scene where police believe the two men exchanged gunfire. The investigation continues.
