Children riding on a school bus that a car crashed into Tuesday morning weren't injured in the collision, Detroit police officials said.

The crash happened at about 6:40 a.m. on Chandler Park Drive at Cadieux Road on Detroit's east side, according to authorities.

A preliminary investigation shows that a silver vehicle was traveling south on Cadieux when the driver failed to stop at a red light and crashed into the school bus heading east on Chandler Park, officials said.

Police are still investigating and had no further information.
