Police: 'Agitated' woman shoots house guest in Detroit
This takes how to handle a lingering house guest to a new level.
A woman was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly opening fire on a guest in her home on Detroit's east side, police reported.
A witness told police that the 40-year-old suspect had been "agitated all day" while the victim visited in the 11000 block of Minden, investigators said in a statement.
While the 25-year-old guest left a back bedroom about 9:45 p.m., the other woman "bumped her for no apparent reason," sparking a fight, according to the release.
The 40-year-old pulled out a weapon and fired once, striking the guest in the left thigh, authorities said.
She was hospitalized in stable condition Tuesday night.
The suspect fled the scene but a police unit tracked her to a vacant house on the next street, in the 11000 block of Christy, the department said.
She remained in custody early Wednesday. Charges are pending.
