Father, son shot night before Father's Day
The night before Father's Day, a 34-year-old father and his 15-year-old son were shot while riding dirt bikes on a sidewalk on Detroit's west side, police said.
The double shooting took place about 6:10 p.m. on the 15000 block of Coyle, south of Fenkell and east of Greenfield.
The father and son were riding dirt bikes when they noticed a man with a blue bandanna over his face, about three doors down from where they were on Coyle. Police describe the man as 5 foot 7 inches to 6 feet 1 inches tall, and wearing an Army camouflage t-shirt,
The bandanna-and-camouflage clad man began shooting at the two, hitting the father in his left leg and the son in his right leg.
Both victims were privately taken to a hospital and both were listed in temporary serious condition.
