Detroit police are investigating a Friday morning break-in at west side liquor store.

Detroit police spokesman Dontae Freeman said the incident happened at 5:45 a.m. Friday at the Grand Cru Liquor Store on the 5400 block of West Warren Avenue near McGraw Avenue.

Officials said unidentified suspects backed a blue 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup truck into the store's front door to gain entry into the establishment. The men were wearing hooded sweatshirts.

It's not clear what was taken from the store at this time, police said.

The robbery is similar to a series of thefts at liquor stores in the city.

One of the most recent incidents happened last week at a liquor store in the 8000 block of East Forest Avenue near Van Dyke Road.
