Unclaimed $519K lottery prize sold in Detroit expires soon
Michigan Lottery officials are working to locate the winner of a half-million jackpot that has gone unclaimed for almost a year and who is running out of time to claim the prize.
Someone bought the winning Jackpot Slots Fast Cash ticket on July 27, 2017 in Detroit and instantly won $519,456, officials said Wednesday.
The lucky player bought the ticket at a Marathon gas station at 17040 East Warren. Officials said the ticket holder has less than a month to claim the prize, which must be claimed by 4:45 p.m. July 27. If the prize isn’t claimed before the ticket expires, the money will go to the state School Aid Fund.
Fast Cash games are a series of instant-win games that print from terminals at lottery retailers. Fast Cash tickets range in price from $1 to $10 a play.
All of the Fast Cash games feed into one jackpot, which grows with every ticket bought and can be won at anytime. The current jackpot amount prints on each ticket, so players always know the amount of the jackpot up for grabs.
The winner should contact the Michigan Lottery Public Relations Division at (517) 373-1237 to schedule an appointment to collect the prize at the Lottery headquarters in Lansing.
