Police seek suspect in deadly Detroit barbershop shooting

Detroit police are investigating a fatal shooting outside of a west side barbershop that was sparked by an argument, officials said.
A 27-year-old man was killed in the shooting, according to police.
The shooting happened at about 3:45 p.m. Thursday on West Seven Mile near Littlefield Street west of Outer Drive, said Dontae Freeman, a Detroit police spokesman.
Police are searching for a 29-year-old man who was last seen fleeing the scene in a black 2017 Jeep Cherokee. They released his photo but are not naming him.
Police said the suspect and the victim were both employed at the barbershop and they got into an argument while at work.
After they took the argument outside, the suspect and the victim each pulled out guns and fired at one another, according to witnesses.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he died from multiple gunshot wounds, Freeman said. It's not known if the suspect was injured in the shooting.
If anyone recognizes the suspect or knows of his whereabouts, they should call the Detroit Police Department at (313) 596-6114 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800- SPEAK-UP.
