A 24-year-old woman died early Sunday morning in a three-vehicle car crash on Livernois at Seven Mile on Detroit's west side, police said.

The fatal crash took place at 1:40 a.m. on the 19000 block of Livernois and the woman who died was a passenger in one of the vehicles.

A 20-year-old man driving a black Saturn was headed north on Livernois and blew through a traffic light, hitting a Dodge Journey and a Buick Regal at the Seven Mile intersection. His vehicle rolled over, killing the woman, who was ejected from the vehicle.

Police believe alcohol and speed may have played roles in the fatal crash, and took the man into police custody.

Two other passengers, a man and a woman, were taken by medics to an area hospital and are in temporary serious condition. Their ages were not immediately available.

In the silver 2010 Dodge Journey that was hit, a 21-year-old male driver suffered injuries to his head, right arm and right leg, and his condition is currently unknown, as is that of a 23-year-old man whose back was hurt.

In the Regal, a 52-year-old male driver reported no injuries.
