Police: Mom 'couldn't part' with dead daughter in home
The body of a 47-year-old woman who may have been dead for up to seven months was found Sunday afternoon in the bedroom of her mother's home, after her mother went to a police precinct to report the death.
Police arrived at the home on the 5200 block of Seebaldt, which is north of Tireman and east of Livernois, about 2:35 p.m. Sunday, after the woman's mother reported the body to police during a visit to the 10th precinct.
The dead woman's mother, who is 65, told police she just "couldn't part" with her daughter after she died, said Officer Holly Lowe, a Detroit police spokeswoman.
Homicide detectives arrived to investigate, and the Wayne County Medical Examiner will determine the woman's official cause of death. The ME's office did not immediately respond to a request for information.
