The Wayne County Medical Examiner has identified the 47-year-old woman found dead after months in her mother's home as Natasha Kennedy.

The cause and manner of Kennedy's death is not yet known, per medical examiner spokeswoman Lisa Croff.

Detroit police discovered Kennedy's body after her mother reported the death to the 10th precinct on Sunday. Police arrived at the home on the 5200 block of Seebaldt, which is north of Tireman and east of Livernois, about 2:35 p.m. Sunday, and found Kennedy's body in a bedroom. Police believe she may have been dead for months, possibly dating back to November.

Kennedy's mother, who is 65, told police she just "couldn't part" with her daughter after she died, said Officer Holly Lowe, a Detroit police spokeswoman.
