Police: After shots fired on east side, 5 wanted
The Detroit Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying and locating five men suspected in two incidents where shots were fired late Saturday on the city's east side.
At 9:55 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a 911 call of gunfire on the 11000 block of Chalmers, which is north of East Outer Drive.
Police arrived to find a 46-year-old man who said someone fired shots at him from a black Chevy Impala.
Just before those shots were fired, the victim had a confrontation with "a known person and several unknown males" at a gas station on the 11700 block of Chalmers. One of the men was armed and one drove a black Chevy Impala.
As police took the victim's report and witness statements, someone fired shots at all of them from a nearby vacant field.
No one was hit in either incident, and police didn't return fire. A K-9 unit was brought in to track the suspects but was unsuccessful.
