Clinton Twp. man charged in gas station murder
Aaron Journey, a 21-year-old Clinton Township man, has been charged with first-degree premeditated murder in a mid-June shooting homicide at a gas station on Detroit's east side.
The homicide took place in the 11 p.m. hour on June 14, at a Valero gas station on the 14400 block of East Seven Mile.
Police were flagged down to the gas station and found the victim, a 27-year-old Clinton Township man identified in court records as Joshua David Jones, on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to his face and neck, and multiple shell casings in the area, but the circumstances of the homicide were unknown. No additional details were available as of Wednesday morning.
Journey has been charged with first-degree murder, carrying a concealed weapon, and felony firearm, and was denied bond at his arraignment Tuesday. He will remain at Wayne County Jail as his case is decided.
He's due back in court on July 24 for a probable cause conference and July 31 for his preliminary exam, both before Judge Lydia Nance Adams.
