Detroit flight lands safely after engine trouble
Detroit — A Delta flight from Detroit to Kansas City landed safely Monday afternoon after experiencing an engine problem.
The Boeing 717 had a fuel leak, leaving it with six hours of fuel, said a spokesman for Kansas City International Airport. After landing at 4:45 p.m., one of the plane's engines was sprayed with fire retardant by Kansas City firefighters, said the spokesman.
None of the 117 passengers on Flight 923 were injured in the landing, which was completed without incident, said the spokesman. The plane had departed from Detroit Metropolitan Airport and was bound for Kansas City.
The cause of the leak was under investigation.
