Police: Truck driver dies in crash near Ambassador Bridge

The 56-year-old driver of a semi truck died in a single-vehicle crash Monday morning near the Ambassador Bridge on Detroit's west side, police said.

The fatal crash took place about 5:15 a.m., police said, when the semi ran into a wall on the 2700 block of West Fort Street.

Officers arrived at the scene to find the victim unresponsive, and Detroit firefighters administering CPR. Medics arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
