Detroit police are looking for tips that would help locate the driver of an SUV that struck a pedestrian late Monday night on the city's west side and didn't stop after the crash, and have offered video of the crash and the escaping vehicle.

The crash left an unidentified man in critical condition and took place at 10:40 p.m. on West Seven Mile at Shiawassee, east of Telegraph.

The victim, a black male believed to be in his 20s, was crossing West Seven Mile to the south when he was hit by a white Kia that was headed eastbound. Police believe the vehicle was a Kia Sorrento, whose model year is between 2010 and 2014.

The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating a suspect and vehicle from a critical hit and run accident that occurred on the city's west side.

After the crash, the Kia never stopped, continuing eastbound on West Seven Mile, and driving through another Project Green Light location in the process.

Police believe the Kia would have front-end damage on the driver side as a result of the crash.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital.
