Detroit police are investigating a shooting Wednesday morning at a Woodward Avenue coney restaurant that left a 28-year-old man injured.

The shooting took place about 2:30 a.m. at Detroit One Coney Island, after an altercation between two men.

The suspect, described as a black male ranging from 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, with medium to dark-colored skin, wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, and carrying a handgun, got into an argument with a friend or acquaintance of the victim.

Then the two men started arguing, at which point the suspect pulled a gun and fired shots, hitting the victim multiple times on his right side. After being privately taken to an area hospital, he's listed in temporary serious condition.

The suspect fled on foot through the back door.
