A man who was running through an east side neighborhood firing gunshots Saturday morning was captured without incident, Detroit Police say.
Detroit police dispatched to the 4600 block of Bedford at 6:17 a.m. after receiving a 911 call from a woman saying her neighbor was having a mental break down. The caller stated he was running up and down the street with a handgun firing multiple shots, police say.
When officers arrived, they said the suspect kicked in a door and ran inside of a two-family flat. Officers said a woman ran out of the home safely.
Officers were able to subdue the suspect and transport him to a crisis center without incident. The weapon was recovered at the scene.
