Detroit police are investigating the Friday morning stabbing of a man on the city's southwest side, officials said.

The man, a 32-year-old Hispanic male, is in critical condition, they said.

The incident happened at about 5:20 a.m. in the 5400 block of Vernor Highway near Junction Street, according to authorities.
