State police arrest 1 in carjacking on Detroit's west side

Michigan State Police caught one person and are searching for two more who they said tried to carjack a motorist Tuesday on Detroit's west side.

The incident happened at about 4:05 a.m. on West Seven Mile near the Southfield Freeway, according to the state police.

Troopers were on patrol in the area when they saw a group of men carjacking a silver Toyota, officials said.

Three suspects fled from the scene but troopers were able to arrest one of the men, police said. 

No one was injured and police continue to investigate.
