LoJack hit leads to police chase, crash
A LoJack system hit on a stolen van in Detroit early Wednesday morning, leading to a chase with officers and a crash, police said.
Michigan State Police tried to pull over the stolen vehicle about 5:30 a.m. in the area of West Warren and Epworth, which is east of Livernois. The driver did not stop, and police pursued it as it traveled east.
In the end, the driver crashed on Interstate 96 at Evergreen, then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
A trooper gave chase and others contributed K-9 partners to the scene in the hopes of tracking the suspect, but he remains at large.
The suspect description and the model of the stolen vehicle were not immediately available.
