Police: Suspect shot in buttocks during attempted robbery
A 39-year-old man was shot in his buttocks and ran off from an attempted armed robbery late Saturday night on Detroit's west side, police said.
The tables turned on the suspect at about 11:15 p.m., when he approached a 29-year-old man sitting in a vehicle on the 5000 block of Pacific, which is east of Livernois and north of Tireman.
The suspect announced it was a hold-up, but his intended victim wrestled away the gun. During the tussle, the suspect was shot.
After being shot, the suspect ran north to the 5000 block of Oregon, where he was arrested. Medics transported the man to an area hospital, although his condition was not immediately available.
Police recovered two handguns at the scene: a .44 Magnum, and a .40 caliber.
