Three people are recovering after being shot in a dispute between neighbors late Sunday on Detroit's east side, police said.

Police responded to the 11100 block of Stockwell at 11:20 p.m. on a report of a shooting. The area is south of Whittier and east of Hayes.

A witness told police that the shooting owed to a dispute of some sort between neighbors on the block, but few details were immediately available — no suspect description was available Monday morning.

A 28-year-old man was shot seven times: twice on his left side, in his stomach, once on his right side, once to his right leg, once to the right side of his back, and once to his right ankle. Medics transported him to the hospital. He was listed in critical condition.

A 51-year-old woman was shot in her right arm and listed in temporary serious condition.

And a 49-year-old man was shot in his left arm. He's listed in stable condition.

Sunday started and ended on a violent note in Detroit. Early that morning, on the city's west side, four people were shot in a drive-by at Joy Road and Wyoming.
